ABSTRACT SUBMITTAL DEADLINE EXTENDED to 09-SEP-2015 for the 2016 WEF Residuals and Biosolids Conference

The Residuals and Biosolids Conference is scheduled for 3–6-APR-2016 at the Milwaukee Convention Center in Milwaukee, WI.  The abstract submittal deadline has been extended to 09-SEPT-2015 and is fast approaching.  The Water Environment Federation’s Residuals and Biosolids Committee, in cooperation with the Central States Water Environment Association is sponsoring the specialty conference.  The Conference Program Committee is soliciting abstracts for oral presentations, workshops, and panel discussions to be presented at the conference. Conference topics being considered include the following:

A. Advances in Stabilization
B. Thermal Processes and Energy Recovery
C. Bioenergy from Residuals
D. Nutrient and Resource Recovery
E. Emerging Issues and Technologies
F. Solids Minimization
G. Thickening and Dewatering
H. Residuals and Product Issues (Quality, Marketing, and
Use)
I. Regulatory Trends
J. Effective Communication and Outreach
K. Land Application and Management
L. Biosolids Science, Fundamentals, and Advances
M. Facilities Operation, Management, and Planning
N. Success Stories and Lessons Learned

Abstracts should be no longer than two pages in length. Abstracts must be submitted via the online system, with tables and graphics uploaded separately. To submit an abstract, please visit www.wef.org/ResidualsBiosolids. Abstracts must be received no later midnight Eastern on 09-SEPT-2015.  YPs and new professionals – the Program Committee is interested in attracting new professionals into WEF and the biosolids sector. Please contact WEF if you have questions about abstract preparation or would like to become more involved in the WEF Residuals and Biosolids Committee.
Abstracts will be evaluated and ranked for selection based on their total score using criteria in the following table:

Selected abstract authors will be notified in November and will need to complete a draft and final manuscript and PowerPoint presentation. Manuscripts and PowerPoint presentations will be reviewed by session moderators and subject to revision or rejection if lacking in quality or if they too closely resemble a sales pitch. In accordance with Federation policy, accepted authors who do not submit the required draft and final manuscript prior to the deadline will be removed from the program. Presenters are expected to register for the Conference and pay the appropriate registration fee. No travel or assistance funds are available for speakers.
