VA Farm Bureau urges unbiased review of biosolids land application

As part of the  the critical legislative issues approved for the 2016 General Assembly by the Virginia Farm Bureau’s Legislative Committee, biosolids is among the group’s 2016 State Critical Issues.  The Bureau is urging the following:

“The maintenance of state oversight and regulation of the application of biosolids and industrial residuals as a source of nutrients on farmland; and
The Initiation of an unbiased review (i.e., Joint Legislative Review and Audit Commission) of current literature, science, and regulation regarding the land application of biosolids and industrial residuals.”
