EPA publishes approved alternative test methods and modifications to test methods

The US EPA published recent postings of broadly applicable alternative test methods (see attached Fed.Reg., Vol. 79, No. 48, 12-MAR-2014).  For EPA Analysis of sewage sludge sources subject to 40 CFR part 61, subpart E for samples collected by Methods 105 and 101A, you may use EPA SW–846, Method 7471A and 7471B—Mercury in Solid or Semisolid Waste (Manual Cold-Vapor Technique) in lieu of analytical procedures required in EPA Method 105 for analysis of sewage sludge samples and Method 7470A—Mercury in Liquid Waste (Manual Cold-Vapor Technique) as an alternative method for analyzing samples collected by Method 101A.
