Biosolids E-Reporting 2017 Data Report
U.S. EPA’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) E-reporting rule went into effect on December 21, 2015. Biosolids annual reporting was included as Phase 1 activities under the rule for those states in which EPA administers the program. The first cycle of reporting electronically occurred in February 2017 covering data collected during 2016. The EPA’s Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) database houses the compiled electronically filed reports. This EPA ECHO Biosolids Data Summary provides a snapshot of the data from 2016. The analysis included 1,954 unique sites and offers an overall look at current practices in biosolids management techniques. This infographic is the first of an annual summary that WEF plans to release based on the data provided by the ECHO database and NPDES e-reporting.
