Proposed “REGS” Rule

The U.S. EPA posted the proposed Renewables Enhancement and Growth Support (“REGS”) rule on 03-OCT-2016 aimed at increasing the production and introduction of greater amounts of renewable fuels.

Among a number of additions, the rule proposes “new registration, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements for facilities using carbon capture and storage.” Comments are also requested concerning the implementation of revised RFS regulations “pertaining to the generation of RINs for renewable electricity used as transportation fuel.”
