Moorhead Wastewater Treatment Facility Achieves Gold Level Recognition

Congratulations to Moorhead Wastewater Treatment Facility in Moorhead, MN on successfully completing a third party audit to achieve Gold Level Recognition status as part of its participation in the National Biosolids Partnership Biosolids Management Program.  The results of the verification audit show the Moorhead Wastewater Treatment Facility has a strong Biosolids Environmental Management Program.  Of particular note, through Moorhead’s “Environmental Performance” outcome area this year, final approval of new acreage was received August 3, 2013, and consisted of an additional 9 sites of 40–acre each for a total increase of 360 acres. This increase allows for an improvement in the diversity and number of farms, which will benefit from the biosolids resource.
