The Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) is seeking proposals to develop needed exposure and hazard data (i.e., human health toxicity and ecotoxicity) for three (3) higher priority trace organics: polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PDBEs), Azithromycin, and Ciprofloxacin. These were identified among many priority chemicals in the 2009 U.S. EPA Targeted National Sewage Sludge Survey (TNSSS) (EPA, 2009). The period of performance is anticipated to be 24 months (2 years) from notice to proceed (NTP) for this initial contract. NTP will be issued to selected proposer after Board approval in May 2015, with an anticipated project start date of July 15, 2015.
Anticipated WERF Cost: $250,000. The total WERF cost / budget for the research effort is anticipated not to exceed US$250,000 for this project / contract (this includes funds from WERF and more than a dozen partners).
