Beijing Delegation Visits WEF

WEF welcomed a delegation from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture on 15-DEC-2014.  The group visited to learn about the NBP Biosolids Management Program, as well as to further understand how water resource recovery facilities handle biosolids in the U.S.

Of recent note, Beijing’s Gaobeidian, as well as Xiaohongmen plants are looking to thermal hydrolysis to advance treatment of solids, capture and use energy, and the dewatered cake would additionally be used for land application.  The Gaobeidian facility is one of the largest in China and the largest in Beijing, and Xiaohongmen is the second largest in Beijing.
