City of St. Cloud, MN Achieves Platinum Level Certification
Congratulations to the City of St. Cloud, MN on achieving PLATINUM CERTIFICATION! The audit company of NSF highlighted that St. Cloud’s Biosolids Management Program (BMP) has excellent support from the highest levels of management ensuring continued success. “This is a continuous improvement process, and certification is not the end — it is the beginning,” said Bill Hancuff, NSF auditor, “the results of this and future audits will provide value added to the system and should be viewed as an overall opportunity to improve. Every audit is a snapshot in time, and does not, or cannot, identify each and every area for improvement. And yet, while no single audit identifies all of the areas for improvement the results of each audit provide an additional incremental step in the overall system’s improvement.”
St. Cloud’s EMS team noted “that with the continued dedication of the EMS Team and all Public Utilities staff, the goal is to maintain the high standard that has been set. The EMS goals and objectives set by the team in 2013 has ignited the work and output related to the new Resource Recovery and Energy Efficiency Master Plan. This plan will include short term and long term solutions and projects that will result in reduction of costs and carbon footprint and additional resource recovery opportunities. The City continues to strive for excellence in its environmental stewardship and thanks the National Biosolids Partnership and NSF for the guidance and leadership provided throughout this process.”
