Massachusetts DEP Regulatory Reforms

As part of the Massachusetts DEP Regulatory Reform Initiative to streamline the permitting process and maintain high standards of environmental protection in a constrained budgetary environment, changes were proposed in ten water related programs. Of particular interest, the following were set for promulgation on December 6, 2013:

Land Application of Wastewater Residuals

• Added presumptive renewal provision for highest quality material (Type 1)
• Extended maximum term from 3 years to 5.

No significant public comments received. No significant changes made.
