Communication and Resident Engagement Assists in Educating Public

Developer, Dan Hintz, will host an informational meeting to educate residents regarding biosolids.  Hintz said. “I just think people need to understand that 20 years ago, we were talking about raw sewage, but this is a treated product that is totally different.”

The anticipated biosolids storage facility would be used to store biosolids during the winter for approximately 180 days.  The biosolids would then be spread on local farm fields as free fertilizer.  The Racine Water and Wastewater Utility General Manager additionally agreed to offer tours to residents of the Oak Creek facility – the utility currently uses for storage.
