U.S. EPA OIG to review land app controls

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Inspector General (OIG), provided notification of Project #OPE-FY17-0019 “Evaluation of EPA’s Controls Over Land Application of Sewage Sludge” on 02-JUN-2017.

The OIG is planning “preliminary research on EPA controls over the land application of sewage sludge. [OIG’s] review will include the Office of Water, as well as other applicable programs and select EPA regional offices. This project is included in [OIG’s] annual plan.
For [their] objective, [OIG will be asking] the following question:
Does the EPA have and implement controls over the land application of sewage sludge that protect human health and the environment?”
